ADD SOME ADRENALIN TO AN ACTIVITY DAY, WITH A ZIP LINE OVER WATER
Zip lines can add an element of action to a city tour, or a twist to an adventure activity. Great as a team activity during a corporate event, zip wires are a very communal experience and usually building in height, most zip wires don’t need nerves of steel, even if they eventually offer some pretty significant drops.
Taking a zip line over water is one of the most dramatic summer zip line options, with some zip lines skimming the water and others flying high above the drink.
SUMMER ZIP LINE PRACTICALITIES
Some zip lines are point to point and given their height over the water, require a body harness and a fixed attachment to the pulley. Other zip lines over water require the client to ‘hang on’ to the pulley until a time that fatigue or a wave takes them for a swim. There are great photo opportunities of clients, as the hurtle through the sky, whilst body mounted cameras can provide some great point of view shots.
Whilst there can be some precipitous drops, many zip lines start from a secure platform and the drops increase with time, so the faint-hearted should be able to take part in most zip line routes. Zip lines are highly regulated and utilise body harnesses and safety hardware.

Slung over a frothing ocean inlet, clients grab the pulley handle and launch over the water until the voluntary or involuntary plunge into the waves.
Just south of Salzburg, the longest zip wire in the region offers clients the chance to hurtle along the length of a dramatic canyon.
