CLIENT BRIEF

The President of an association representing CEO’s and high-net-worth individuals wanted a retreat for his members in the Austrian mountains. An intimate, private setting in a boutique hotel was required. Fine dining, moments in nature, and some fun were further requests. The budget was open, but there was a requirement for quality over opulence.

PLANNING

Nowhere in the Alps does understated luxury better than Austria. The client had made it clear that their strong preference was boutique luxury, rather than ritzy brands and over-the-top trimmings.

We proposed 4 options in stunning locations across the French and Swiss Alps, but recommended Lech am Arlberg as the perfect choice for the client’s aspirations.

THE EVENT

  • The client selected the most exquisite 5-star boutique hotel. In a dreamy setting, close to the winter walking trails, the group occupied nearly the entire hotel. The forested trails and the stunning terrace were used for group sessions in nature.
  • We converted the hotel spa area into a party venue. Accessed by internal lift, the unaware clients were confronted with a champagne bar and dance floor in a drained hot tub. The disco ball spun till late.
  • The hotel terrace was converted to a curling rink, with fire baskets and Glühwein. The clients competed for the coveted winning trophy.
  • The hotel hosted a fine-dining event in a private room with views over the rooftops of Lech. Further dinners were taken on the mountain, with themed evenings and wine tours.
  • The group was split between skiers and non-skiers. Guides took the best skiers into the fantastic Arlberg off-piste, while non-skiers enjoyed thermal spas, forest walks, and shopping.
  • For a touch of exclusivity, we hired the champagne terrace at the Balmalp as a prelude to lunch. A champagne gondola for the non-skiers was arranged to access the lunch venue.
