Intermediate skiing can be found in abundance in the area and for adventurous skiers and snowboarders it is possible to ski great distances, as far as Switzerland.
Tree-lined, intermediate skiing is on offer in Morzine, with a similar profile of skiing beyond Morzine in Les Gets. There are varied pistes back into the resort, with blue trails back to the après ski terraces of Morzine or else the Olympique black piste to sort the heroes from the zeros, in full view of the masses baying for entertainment on the Tremplin terrace.
Neighbouring Avoriaz boasts an impressive snow record, one of the best in France. It is the higher neighbour to Morzine and is lift-connected to the resort. Outside the resort area in Avoriaz, the terrain is generally tougher than Morzine, with the sector directly above Les Prodains offering excellent, steep piste and off-piste skiing.
From Avoriaz, it is possible to Chatel or Champéry in Switzerland. Park skiing and off-piste are hugely popular in Avoriaz. Many people skiing or riding in Avoriaz ensure they are within touching of La Folie Douce so as not to miss the afternoon mayhem. The runs from Avoriaz to the valley can be fantastic in new snow.

Morzine itself is a busy little Alpine town with a lively spirit. Traditional wooden chalets with slate roofs and stone foundations ensure the village retains its character and Savoyard charm. This region is known to have several unspoilt French villages but Morzine must be close to being the best in terms of atmosphere, facilities and charm.
Morzine is also fantastically located for Geneva airport transfers - a key factor for many group ski and corporate ski trip planners. Morzine is a town full of life offering a range of sporting and cultural activities. Morzine has plenty of excellent restaurants and bars for guests to enjoy the après ski during the winter.
A well-known après ski hangout is Bar Robinson's. Robbo's is a traditional French cafe run by three locals who remember Morzine before it was so busy. Although the bar has no music or entertainment it offers a super strength lager that has made it a popular destination for anyone making their way from the packed terrace at Le Tremplin.
Avoriaz is a fully, ski in, ski out resort built at 1800m, high above Morzine. With great access to the slopes and lifts it makes an excellent choice for those wanting to maximise time on the snow. Avoriaz has many restaurants, shops, an aquatic centre and the famous La Folie Douce, offering further rest and wellbeing!
Morzine has some of the best après ski in the region. It may not be as ritzy as Val d'Isère or Courchevel but the number of bars, both for locals and visitors makes Morzine a great place for a night on the snowy streets. A couple of highlights are Bar Robinson and Le Tremplin.
Le Tremplin is slopeside at the bottom of the Olympique black ski piste - offering music and views of the afternoon ski carnage. Robo's is famous across the region for its après ski and strong beers, whilst L'Opéra is on hand to ensure early morning gondola queues in Morzine are decimated.
The arrival of La Folie Douce on the slopes of Avoriaz has taken the resort to new levels of après ski. The terrace of La Folie Douce Avoriaz is bouncing from mid-afternoon throughout the winter, attracting masses of skiers and boarders. The post-Folie home run is the stuff of legend.
Skiers and snowboarders leaving the Avoriaz ski area have the option of several après ski venues around the base station at Les Prodains. Indoor and outdoor après ski action is available and whilst not high-end establishments, these venues have a good atmosphere and are handily located at the end of the ski pistes.
Short transfer connections from Geneva, great après ski and numerous on and off-snow activities make Morzine an excellent option for group and corporate ski trips. For large events, the Palais des Sport in Morzine offers space for up to 700 people to meet.
There are numerous room configurations, a restaurant and outdoor areas as well. For smaller events, several hotels offer specialist meeting rooms around Morzine.
