Stretching aching muscles after a day on the slopes, in thermal pools, with colleagues is quality time. Regional spa complexes are often bigger by some order of magnitude and the facilities and experience at the latest spas can be truly superb.
As well as offering non-skiers a wonderfully pampered alternative to snow sports, alpine spas can be used by skiers and snowboarders in the evenings and during times of bad weather on the mountain. Whole day programs can be booked with exercise, pampering and dining included, whilst some spas offer seminar facilities, so the spa can be incorporated for break-out sessions.

The Tauern Spa is an architectural wonder, located on the flat valley just outside Kaprun. Roof top pools offer remarkable views over the highest peaks in Austria, whilst the ultra-modern complex offers numerous indoor and outdoor thermal pool options.
Just north of Sölden is the spectacular AquaDome spa complex offering a range of dramatic, elevated bowls containing thermal waters from the Ötztal valley. Dining options are fantastic, as are the uninterrupted views south to the glaciated border with Italy.
