As a non-skiing activity, snowshoe walking offers the chance to experience the thrill and emotion of the rugged and unforgiving high-altitude terrain, that so captivates skiers and snowboarders. With no prior experience, snowshoe walkers can readily learn to navigate their way through undulating, snowy terrain and discover pristine wilderness. It is often possible to coordinate lunch meetings so that snowshoe walkers and skiers / snowboarders can rendezvous at a chosen restaurant. Snowshoe walks are suited to group treks and as such are ideally suited to corporate ski events.
With the ever-increasing popularity of backcountry skiing and snowboarding, snowshoes can be a great way to access off-piste areas.
