Epic snow-sure 365-day skiing, pumping après ski & endless activities. Short airport transfers, part of the huge Zillertal ski region and fantastic venues, Mayrhofen is an outstanding destination for corporate ski events.

Mayrhofen is the corporate ski event giant of the biggest ski valley in Austria - the Zillertal. The ski resort has the biggest name, the most vibrant après ski, excellent event facilities & attractions and hosts comedy & music festivals during the winter, offering a great backdrop for a ski event.

Skiing is possible 365 days a year just south of Mayrhofen on the Hintertux Glacier, whilst there is skiing on both sides of the valley in the Ahorn & Penken ski sectors. The Penken hosts the steepest ski piste in Austria - the 78% gradient Harakiri - seriously challenging and a conveyor belt for company folklore.

Aside from the superb skiing, Mayrhofen has one of the original and best Igloo complexes – the White Lounge. There are packed après ski bars on the mountain and across the resort, whilst tobogganing, paragliding and music & comedy festivals keep event attendees seriously entertained.

Mayrhofen has quality throughout the resort, in the hotels, restaurants & resort amenities. This combined with the skiing, après and activities, make Mayrhofen a superb destination for corporate ski events.

To the south of Mayrhofen is the Ahorn ski area. The smaller ski area in Mayrhofen offers tree-lined skiing and a great ski piste back to the resort. The Ahorn is also the location of the White Lounge Igloo and many spend the late-afternoon on deck chairs with views to the glaciated Italian border. To the west of Mayrhofen is the superb Penken ski area, accessed by a recently upgraded high-capacity gondola.

This is the much larger and diverse ski area which Mayrhofen is famed for. It includes a wide range of terrain from the steepest groomed piste in Austria to beginner slopes, as well as the celebrated Mayrhofen snow park. The Mayrhofen snow park is one of the originals and has an iconic place in the development of park skiing in the Alps. The 150er cable car accesses some sensational off-piste skiing, whilst this area also leads into the extended Zillertal 3000 ski area.

Mayrhofen is part of the Zillertal 3000 ski area which includes Finkenberg and Lanersbach and slightly further afield the mighty Hintertux Glacier. These neighbouring ski areas are accessed by skiing south from the Penken region, with the colossal Olperer peak and the glaciers on the Italian border looming on the horizon. Heading south the altitude drops slightly before the Hintertux Glacier (reached by short bus ride), whilst the valley narrows.

Both Finkenberg and Lanersbach offer intermediate skiing above and below the tree-line, whilst the Hintertux Glacier offers some of the steepest glacier skiing in the Alps. The section above the Tuxer Fernerhaus is steep, as the glacial ice fields drop off the plateau beneath the Olperer peak. Skiing on the Hintertux Glacier is possible 365 days a year (but for weather disruptions).

Dance, drink & laugh

Mayrhofen hosts annual comedy & dance music festivals in the mountains and the resort, offering an incredible mix of entertainment.

Après ski

Après ski in Mayrhofen is immense - the Penken & Ahorn ski areas kick things off early, followed by the pumping resort bars.

Mayrhofen occupies a flat, wide section of the mid-Zillertal valley. Arguably the principal ski resort in the Zillertal (and the wider region), Mayrhofen has an excellent range of event services and amenities.

The resort is a year-round destination and as such has a great deal going on throughout the entire year. Mayrhofen is connected to the main rail network for those wanting to lessen their carbon footprint when arriving or exploring the other ski areas on the Mayrhofen ski pass.

Bars, shops and restaurants line the main street of Mayrhofen and the atmosphere through the winter months is often vibrant, driven by the superb après ski and festivals.

There is a fantastic Christmas market located in the woods on the southern side of the resort, whilst the recently redeveloped Penken gondola forms the central focus of resort with access to and from the main ski area, shops, ski rental and a number of après ski bars (which can prove very hard to avoid).

Mayrhofen is the après ski King of the Zillertal and is one of the best in Austria. On the mountain, there are numerous bars and terraces at the top station of the Penken gondola. Many people download to Mayrhofen on this lift and from mid-afternoon these watering holes are packed with revellers.

On the south side of the resort, the White Lounge is located in the Ahorn ski area and offers a fantastic location to sit in icy catacombs or on deck chairs catching the afternoon sun. The Ahorn offers a more chilled après ski afternoon.

In the resort itself there are a number of bars located around the Penken gondola base station, which heave with après skiers after the lifts close. Located in central Mayrhofen is Scotties (Scotland Yard), one of the most iconic après ski bars in Austria and a must-visit watering hole during any ski event.

There are several annual festivals in Mayrhofen which offer a really vibrant back-drop to any event. Festivals include comedy and dance music events, with venues located across the mountains and the resort.

Mayrhofen is one of the leading meeting destinations in the region. There is a dedicated Congress centre in Mayrhofen which provides adaptable venue space and professional support services for meetings and seminars. As well as these formal spaces, there are a number of hotels in the resort which offer various meeting rooms and support services.

On the mountain there are some excellent locations in both the Penken and Ahorn ski areas. For those looking for a bit of a twist for their meeting and seminar programme, the White Lounge in the Ahorn area can host groups in superb, icy catacombs or else on the sunny plateau outside the igloo.

As well as venues to host meeting and seminar events, there is a superb range of activities and entertainment to occupy event attendees. In addition to skiing and snowboarding there is tobogganing and skidoo driving in the area. Paragliding is popular from the local peaks into the resort valley and there are a number of excellent spa centres to relax in.

Slightly outside of Mayrhofen, event attendees can descend into glacial caves or ride through snowy forests on an Alpine coaster. Everything from ski boot dancing après ski to fine dining is on offer after dark in Mayrhofen.
