ST MORITZ SKIING

St Moritz skiing takes place between 1850 and 3050m. The ski season is long and snow-sure whilst the views are truly magical with a horizon of cloud-busting peaks and a shimmering, frozen lake in the valley. Beginner skiers have a fantastic band of terrain across the mountains around Corviglia, whilst much of the remaining area is ideal for intermediates and above.

The rolling pitches of the terrain as well as the varying gradients make for some really interesting skiing. Given its height, the off-piste conditions can be great in St Moritz, whilst the sunny south facing slopes are a big hit with spring skiers and snowboarders.

Whilst the skiing may be of secondary importance to many in the lakeside town of St Moritz, those who do access the slopes will discover uncrowded, high-altitude pistes with staggering views and varying terrain. With a legacy of world champion skiers and a superb lift infrastructure, St Moritz is a gem for those leaving the shopping, dining, and socialising to others.

There numerous mountain huts to drink and dine in, whilst there are tough and easy ways to return to the St Moritz Dorf. FIS pistes drop down toward the town, and heli-skiing is possible in the local mountains.

ST MORITZ RESORT

As the birthplace of winter tourism, St Moritz is steeped in Alpine history. There are a number of palatial hotels which have shaped the fortunes of the lakeside town over the years. These hotels have set the tone for opulent living in the mountains and over the years, shopping and services have descended on the town to serve the visiting elites.

Today St Moritz is a ritzy town, packed with designer stores, sumptuous restaurants and inviting terraces. The large hotels are mini resorts in themselves with fine dining, leisure and spa facilities under 1 roof.

Whilst the large hotels serve most guest needs, the shopping streets are crowded with strolling visitors. The lake is another magnet for those visiting St Moritz and the winters ensure that Lake St Moritz is a hive of activity with the White Turf event, skating and winter walking, all popular pursuits.

The funicular connecting St Moritz Dorf with the Corviglia mountain station ensures that there are many foot passengers joining the skiers and snowboarders in the heart of the St Moritz ski area. And no trip to St Moritz is complete without witnessing or riding their famous bob sled track.

ST MORITZ APRÈS SKI

Ischgl it isn’t, but St Moritz in mid-afternoon can still offer some bustling bars to bring the ski day to a close. And whilst tall drinks and fine wines are the norm in St Moritz, there are plenty of local beers and glühwein buckets hanging over open fires.

In a town where many don’t come to ski, the après ski is often replaced by an afternoon sipping fine wines amongst the majestic scenery, whether lakeside or on the peaks. Some of the best hospitality is served around the superb White Turf event, with VIP lounges along the fringes of the horse racetrack. Park in a sofa, intercept the passing waiting staff and feel good about life.

As well the high-end stuff that takes place through the resort and across the mountains, there are a number of more rustic après ski venues that have more in common with the famous Austrian après ski than they do with the fur & wine of St Moritz.

The mid-station of the Corviglia funicular has the Alto Bar - a terrace, around a disused cable car – enjoy it for views, tunes and beers. The Roo bar in the centre of St Moritz has a lively outdoor bar, whilst La Gondola offers the chance to crush shoulders with the local ski instructors.

ST MORITZ MEETINGS & SEMINARS

The main hotels in St Moritz all offer meeting and conference spaces of differing different sizes and specifications. There is a dedicated congress centre located at Pontresina which offers professional conference space and services and is located a short distance outside St Moritz.

Transport connections to St Moritz are excellent and for VIP clients, the local airport hosts a steady stream of private jets.

As well as the meeting & conference infrastructure, St Moritz has all the trappings for an outstanding meeting, seminar or conference programme. The dining in St Moritz is absolutely top drawer whilst the hotels are some of the best in the Alps - exuding quality and history like few other destiantions in the world.

High profile events such as the White Turf offer remarkable backdrops to conference programmes whilst the skiing and local activities are world class.
