SKIING IN VAL GARDENA

The Dolomites is one of the most recognisable brands in the Alpine world, whilst the Sella Ronda is amongst the most well-known ski circuits anywhere. The remarkable backdrop of the Dolomites forms the visual centre of the Sella Ronda ski circuit which can be skied in a clockwise or counter-clockwise route, with numerous embarkation points along the route, from the village resorts that line the route. Most competent intermediate skiers can tackle the Sella Ronda in under a day. There are endless restaurant terraces to dine on during the circuit, whilst photo opportunities are pretty much continuous.

The on the northern side of the resort the pistes back into Selva Gardena are steep and challenging with the Saslong piste hosting the annual FIS downhill race. The centre of the resort is best accessed from the eastern side of the resort with easier runs and the ski trail winding through the heart of the village. For intermediate skiers and snowboarders, the region is exceptional with huge ski resources amongst wonderful terrain. For high-altitude slopes, the Marmolda glacier offers skiing to over 3200m, right in the granite centre of the Sella Ronda circuit.

VAL GARDENA RESORTS

Val Gardena hosts a number of resorts along its valley. The principal ski resort is the town of Selva di Val Gardena. Spreading across the valley, the resort is intersected by ski trails exiting the Sella Ronda ski circuit. Low-rise and traditional, the town has a great atmosphere to complement its attractive looks. There are numerous après ski bars, restaurants and shops in the centre of Selva di Val Gardena.

Santa Cristina is an alternative village in Val Gardena, located a few minutes down the road from Selva di Val Gardena. With ski lifts accessing the Sella Ronda ski circuit and ski pistes back to the resort, Santa Cristina is ideally located for skiing. Another attractive resort in stunning surroundings, Santa Cristina has a great range of activities.

APRÈS SKI IN VAL GARDENA

Selva di Val Gardena has a good range of lively après ski bars in the resort as well as a number of mountain huts for afternoon drinks in the sun. Saltos and Luislkeller are located on the lower slopes that cut through the village, whilst La Stua is located on the main street, close to the resort centre, ski pistes and main gondola. These bars offer a good atmosphere in peak season, with schnapps skis, beer games and bites to eat, both indoors and on outdoor terraces.

There are few better places in the world to recline in a sun lounger with a glass or mug of Vin Brulé, amongst the remarkable surrounding of the Dolomites, as sunset approaches. There are numerous, wonderful huts throughout the ski region to relax and enjoy a drink in. The top station of the Ciampinoi offers a great snowy terrace with the scent of Vin Brulé wafting through the air. With the option of a download on the gondola, there is little to stop that last round of drinks before the fun in the resort begins.

MEETINGS & SEMINARS IN VAL GARDENA

There are a number of hotels in Selva Gardena with meeting and seminar facilities that can host meetings and offer guests on-site, quality accommodation. Additionally, there is a congress centre in Ortisei / St. Ulrich for larger gatherings, exhibitions and functions. Dining the region is excellent, offering authentic, quality gastronomy to complement meeting and seminar programs.
