Saalbach and Hinterglemm serve the biggest and best ski area in the region. Lifts leave throughout the villages into an expanding region that now includes the superb off-piste terrain at Fieberbrunn.
The resorts are pumping with après ski action throughout the winter and some excellent hotels are ideal for corporate ski events.
There are short resort transfers from Salzburg airport and corporate ski groups will enjoy the fantastic range of mixed ski terrain and the numerous off-snow activities.
Things to do include paragliding, scenic flights, springtime golf and the famous après ski nightlife.
Skiing takes place from the eastern section of the valley near Saalfelden to the western end at Hinterglemm, on both the southern and northern-facing slopes. Skiing in the Saalbach sector takes place on predominantly south-facing slopes with numerous intermediate slopes found between Vorderglemm and Saalbach, as well as the slope and lift connection to the Leogang sector.
The skiing is almost all tree-lined and is ideal for intermediate skiers and snowboarders. To the west of Saalbach, slopes and lifts connect to the Hinterglemm ski sector and further into the connected sector of Fieberbrunn. Modern, high-capacity lifts serve the Saalbach ski area. This is an intermediate skier’s dream with a huge range of mountain huts.
To the west of the Saalbach ski area is the Hinterglemm ski sector. With a similar height and vertical to the Saalbach sector, Hinterglemm offers arguably a bigger and better ski area with steeper skiing. The Hinterglemm skiing on the south side of the resort, beneath Zwölferkogel, provides some challenging gradients, whilst the Westgipfel ski route is located close by.
For intermediates looking to cover some large distances, it is possible to ski the circuit running between Saalbach and Hinterglemm in an anti-clockwise direction. Side trips into both Leogang and Hinterglemm add to the distances available.

Saalbach and Hinterglemm are the principal towns in the long and narrow Glemmtal valley. Saalbach is the first resort reached by road and is low-rise, clustered around a church and full of life. The central area, from the church through to the beginner slopes at the Kohlmaisbahn are busy with après ski bars and entertainment.
There are shops and restaurants in the heart of Saalbach. There are ski lifts and ski pistes linking much of the resort with the skiing whilst the southern flank of Saalbach, across the river, is more tranquil.
Hinterglemm is located further west down the valley and whilst the 2 resorts are distinct, their dwellings essentially merge to form one long conurbation. Like Saalbach, Hinterglemm has a lively central area of the resort with much of the après ski action taking place around the beginner’s slopes by the Unterschwarzach lift.
Lifts leave both sides of the valley and numerous slopes return to the resort. Shops, bars and restaurants are numerous in Hinterglemm.
One of the very best anywhere – Saalbach - Hinterglemm is an après ski regional epicentre throughout the winter months. Saalbach has a wide range of bars après ski bars across the central area and there are numerous mountain huts which ensnare revellers from mid-afternoon.
Back in the resort, Saalbach après ski action takes place around the hugely popular bars on the fringe of the beginner’s slopes, including the outdoor terraces at Bauers Skialm.
Hinterglemm similarly boasts a pulsating après ski scene with numerous large mountain huts catching passing skiers who succumb to temptation. One of the classic Hinterglemm mountain huts is the Goaßstall which serves après skier needs alongside its livestock in the form of goats, just above the valley.
On the opposite side of the resort, Der Schwarzacher offers ultra-modern drinking and dining, with some great après ski terrace bars.
Saalbach is a great choice for corporate ski trips and ski groups looking to deliver a meeting & seminar or incentive & reward event. Formal meeting space is available in the heart of Saalbach in superb, contemporary designed, modular meeting rooms, with immediate access to the resort facilities & attractions.
There are further meeting rooms available in resort hotels, whilst there are several fantastic activities to complement a corporate ski trip, including paragliding, tobogganing and of course, après ski.
Hinterglemm shares many of the same excellent corporate ski event attributes of Saalbach. There are some superb meeting spaces found in Hinterglemm with the Hotel Der Schwarzacher offering fantastic contemporary spaces, terraces and spa – ideal venues for corporate ski trip meetings.
