Just to the north of Zell am See is the Schloss Prielau castle that hosts Mayer’s Restaurant, a high-end gourmet experience amongst the splendour of the historic castle and its grounds.
Away from the town, located in the neighbouring mountains, are endless mountain huts where you can experience regional dishes, complete with stunning views over the local peaks. These venues can be combined with leisure activities such as hiking and biking.
Slightly outside of Zell am See, clients can visit a mountain hut, complete with a micro-brewery, offering the chance to tour the brewery and then taste its fine, traditional produce.
Known as one of the après ski centres of the region, Zell am See offers a slightly more sedate summer nightlife. Ski boots on tables are replaced by wine on terraces overlooking the lake. That said, the mountain huts can offer private venues to experience the glories of local craft beers & schnapps, as well as wonderful scenery.
