Focus on: Lech, Austria

It's for very good reason that Lech is the playground of European royalty - Lech/Zurs is one of the snowiest regions in the Alps!

The skiing is superb and the village of Lech is also a charming and sophisticated destination, and one of a renowned circle of 12 locations dubbed 'The Best of the Alps'.

The Lech-Warth link up 2013/2014 season

The most hotly anticipated link up in the Alps comes to fruition for the 2013-14 ski season with the opening of the Auenfeldjet cable car.  This 2 kilometre long, continuously circulating cable car has 10 gondolas and will run along the western edge of the Auenfeld from Lech to Schröcken in Bregenzerwald, taking 1490 people per hour.

With this new link up, a total of 47 lifts and cable cars, together with 190 kilometres of ski runs, will make this new complex the biggest ski area in Vorarlberg.

In winter 2013/14, skiers holding a Ski Arlberg ski pass will be entitled to use the Warth-Schröcken ski area too.
