iF3 lands in Innsbruck

The International Freeski Film Festival (iF3) has been showcasing the very best of freeskiing to a ravenous audience in Innsbruck Austria over the last few days.

The brain child of Felix Rioux, Doug Bishop, and JF Durocher back in 2007, the iF3 was conceived to bring together the freeskiing movies across the world and show them at an annual event. Awards are given to the men and women who perform in these epic movies as well as shoot them, whether still or motion pictures.

Action took place on the snow with a jam session on the Hintertux Glacier late last week, whilst the centre of Innsbruck hosted a gear expo, music and movie features on huge screens in a central conference hall. Things wrapped up last night with a seriously big party in the centre of Innsbruck with athletes from across the globe mixing with the masses of fans.

No longer a niche market freeskiing, with its fat, innovative skis, incredible lines and stunning locations is big news - the halls were packed and the passion for the movies was electric. This was a fantastic showcase of all that is good in this extreme form of skiing - freeskiing is becoming huge!
