The new Flexenbahn - skiing in the Arlberg just got that little bit better!

If you're after world class skiing and resorts to match, then you don't have to look much further than the Arlberg.

If you're after world class skiing and resorts to match, then you don't have to look much further than the Arlberg. One of Austria's oldest and best loved regions, it is a name synonymous with pristine powder fields and high quality hotels, and for these reasons amongst others, resorts like St Anton and Lech are firm favourites with many of our clients. But if that wasn't enough, this winter the Arlberg is set to become even greater with the introduction of a new state of the art gondola - the Flexenbahn. Linking the resorts of Stuben and Zürs, it will 'close the loop' of the Arlberg ski circus and create the largest interlinked ski area in Austria, with a whopping 300km of pistes to choose from. Needless to say, we're very excited!

So to honour the opening of the Flexenbahn, here are is our breakdown of the Arlberg and the highlights of each of its interlinked resorts.

Lech

Preferred winter destination of the rich and famous, this luxury resort is full of fabulous 4* and 5* hotels where you can expect the highest levels of service and comfort.

DON'T MISS the Cineastic Gondola Festival in December, when you can enjoy amazing graphics projected onto the mountains whilst sipping champagne in your own private gondola.

Warth / Schröcken

Connected to the Arlberg region just a couple of years ago, these family friendly resorts are regarded as the snowiest in Europe with a whopping 10.5m of snow on average each winter!

DON'T MISS the chance to (safely) explore the untouched powder fields, by hiring a local guide with expert knowledge of the off piste terrain.

Zürs

Exclusive ski-in ski-out resort offering skiing from 1800m upwards. Like fashionable Lech just down the road, Zürs also has a great range of high quality hotels.

DON'T MISS the new Flexenbahn (obviously!), which will double your potential ski safari terrain by providing a connection over to Stuben.

Stuben

Another pocket of seemingly unlimited powder with a small but charming village centre and a few nice and reasonably priced restaurants, such as the trendy Fuxbau.

DON'T MISS first lifts, the pistes here are some of the quietest in the Arlberg and you will have them to yourself if you get up early enough.

St Anton

The party capital of the Alps! You'll be spoilt for choice for wild apres bars here, with the party kicking off at 3pm in the Mooserwirt and carrying on until late.

DON'T MISS fantastic sushi at the new Seven Sky restaurant; this first class dining venue is a welcome change from carb heavy Austrian cuisine.
