Top 3 Alpine Film Locations

Soelden is only the latest in a long line of ski resorts that have been in used Hollywood blockbusters over the years.

Here's three resorts you may have seen on the big screen, but believe us, they are even more stunning in reality!

1) Lech, Vorarlberg - This classy Austrian resort attracts the rich and famous from all over the world, so it was only right that the well heeled Mark Darcy, long time love interest of Renee Zellweger's title character in Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, chose to 'winter' in Lech. You can ski several of the pistes used in the movie, but if you don't want to end up looking like Bridget on the slopes, we definitely recommend a few lessons from the local ski school!

2) St Anton, Tirol - Just round the corner from Lech is the famous resort of St Anton, known for its wild off piste skiing and even wilder après parties. Look to your right as you ski down to the Galzig lift and you'll notice the beautiful ornate chalet used in cutesy chick flick Chalet Girl. Not actually a private chalet but a fine gourmet restaurant (and museum about the history of skiing), and a great location for an opulent dining experience.

3) Chamonix, France - Sixteen years before Daniel Craig's Bond was racing his car around the peaks of Sölden, Pierce Brosnan was jumping out of helicopters and skiing down the mountains of Chamonix, one of France's most iconic and beautiful resorts and home to the highest mountain in Europe - Mont Blanc.
