Week 1 of the winter season

It might be the highest lift station in Austria but the view from the top of the Wildspitzbahn on the Pitztal Glacier, Austria well illustrates the great snow conditions that September has brought to the Alps.

With the Stubai Glacier already serving up a powder day in its first week of winter operation, September has been a month to remember. The Hintertux Glacier which opens year-round has now a fantastic 590m vertical for guests to tackle. Make no mistake, some of the best skiing of the winter season can be found in October and November and with a great snow base on the glacial ice, the glacier skiing season looks like being a standout one.
