Winter 2016/17 is up and running

Large sections of the Austrian, French, Swiss and Italian glacier skiing areas are open for business after cold and snowy conditions hit the Alps in the last couple of weeks.

Tignes in France has been posting some dream-like conditions on their social media whilst Innsbruck residents and guests have been taking the short trip south to the Stubai Glacier where there have already been several days of powder skiing. In contrast to the last 2 winter seasons the autumn snow has arrived and the high altitude resorts are also benefiting by gaining a good base to set them up for opening in early December.

Powder snow, queue-free chairlifts and early season bragging rights are up for grabs for those who choose to take their ski trips at this time of the year.
