Tuscany represents what most imagine archetypal Italy to be – delicious food, enchanting history and the famous Italian swagger. With captivating villages, towns and cities spread across a stunning landscape that includes rolling hills, mountains, rivers and beaches, Tuscany also offers enviable contrasts. For the record, the food is on a different level, with regional specialities offering fragrant, visual and taste experiences like few other places in the world.

Lucca has great international flights connections, with Pisa to the south and Florence to the west. There are a range of fantastic activities for corporate event attendees to enjoy, whilst there are endless, superb venues to host groups from the ancient to the contemporary. Famed for its wine, an evening on a Tuscan terrace, overlooking the ocean or rolling hills is a memory that will linger a long, long time.

LUCCA & LIDO DI CAMAIORE

The city of Lucca is the capital of the province of Lucca. The principal city offers a great range of facilities, entertainment and attractions. Dissected in the north of the city by the River Serchio, the centre features narrow streets, open squares and an authentic Italian experience. Shops are wonderfully Italian with designer boutiques neighbouring vendors of exquisite local produce. With a range of hotels and meeting spaces in Lucca, the city offers a great location to stay, in order to explore the metropolis and the surrounding coast and inland.

For groups looking to visit or stay on the coast, then the beach resort of Lido di Camaiore provides huge swathes of sand, endless beach-front bars and restaurants. The resort is within easy reach of Lucca and the interior to combine these areas in an event programme. From Easter through to Autumn, Lido di Camaiore welcomes guests to its sweeping beaches. The coastal region is resolutely low-rise with the beach stretching north and south for some 25km and naturally forms the main focus of Lido di Camaiore and its neighbouring resorts.

LUCCA & LIDO DI CAMAIORE DINING

Tuscany offers a regional Italian menu that boasts truffles, cured meats and soups. Generally speaking, Tuscan dining is unimaginably good, with the ability to turn tomatoes and stale bread into a staple delicacy that defies logic. Lucca offers a great range of intimate, family-run restaurants serving simple, yet exquisite menus with irresistible aromas and spectacular taste sensations.

In Lido di Camaiore the entire beachfront is populated by everything from snack bars to excellent seafood restaurants. Groups will enjoy the open spaces and views that the beachfront locations offer, with some offering roof terraces and elevated views over the Mediterranean Sea. Outside of Lucca and Lido di Camaiore there are many historic venues to accommodate large group events.

LUCCA & LIDO DI CAMAIORE NIGHTLIFE

Lucca is the provisional capital with a population just under 90K. As well as entertaining locals, Lucca has a wide range of bars and cafes for visitors to sample local beers and wines. Characterful venues and terraces offer the archetypal Italian experience. Tuscany produces wines of enviable quality and there is no better way sample it than amongst the cobbled streets of Lucca.

Escaping to the beaches of Lido di Camaiore through the summer months, Italians soak up the evening rays with sand under foot and Aperol in-hand. Groups can enjoy wonderful beachfront venues pre, or post-dinner, along the bay at Lido di Camaiore. Pre-dinner group events, with light Tuscan snacks on the sands of the Mediterranean are truly memorable.

LUCCA & LIDO DI CAMAIORE MEETINGS

Formal meeting and seminar events can take advantage of the numerous hotels in the city which offer meeting facilities, including the Grand Hotel Guinigi in Lucca, which offers a range of rooms and support services. There are also a number of impressive venues which can be utilised for a meeting or seminar.

The coast at Lido di Camaiore offers further options in hotels with a number offering dedicated meeting rooms. Together with the sea air and wonderful views, this coastal strip can be a great location to hold a corporate meeting or seminar.

LUCCA & LIDO DI CAMAIORE - THE UNMISSABLE

Much of the world’s marble has been sourced from the mountains above Carrara, to the north of Lucca and Lido di Camaiore.

Take a 4-wheeled drive tour of the high-altitude quarries, see first-hand the traditional extraction processes, (carried out to this day) and marvel at the Mediterranean views, far beyond the precipitous rock faces.
