Year round, high-altitude skiing, unrivalled scenery & incredible resort.

Snowflake

With one of the most iconic mountain back drops anywhere in the world, Zermatt comes with a very big reputation. Whether judged by its skiing, resort charm / atmosphere or gastronomy, Zermatt handles this reputation with ease – this really is one of the great Alpine destinations globally.

The skiing is high - the highest lift in the Alps. The glaciers offer a snow guarantee and new lift connections make traversing the multi-peak ski area far easier. Quality is all around in the resort and the Matterhorn looming over Zermatt is one of the most remarkable natural wonders in any ski resort.

ZERMATT SKIING

The skiing is big and high – in fact Zermatt has the highest ski lift in the Alps. Spread across distant glaciers and with the ever-present Matterhorn towering on the horizon, the scenery is sensational. And skiing up to over 3800m ensures that the snow quality can be outstanding. The Zermatt ski area is accessed by both mountain railway, as well as cable car. The ski pistes descend from the cloud-piercing top station right back to the resort more than 2km vertically below. The skiing favours the intermediate and better, beginners are less well catered for. There is some excellent off-piste and with the Matterhorn on the horizon, the ski area has a big feel with towering distant peaks circling the ski area.

From the top station skiers and snowboarders can travel over into Italy for a change of perspective or cuisine. The upper section of the Zermatt ski area offers generally wider and more gentle skiing on the main Theodulgletscher (glacier). This is also the point of entry / exit to the Cervinia ski area on the Italian side of the Matterhorn. At 3480m, the Plateau Rosa is a really dramatic transit point. The pistes out of the glacier area to Furi and beyond to Zermatt are fantastic and long, passing beneath the Matterhorn and through changing terrain. The Gornergrat and Rothorn ski areas offer some great, diverse ski terrain with the Gornergrat providing the biggest beginner area in the Zermatt ski region.

ZERMATT RESORT

Zermatt exudes Alpine atmosphere and style, with hotels and chalets spreading back from the main Zermatt pedestrianised street. With the backdrop of the towering Matterhorn and a river running through the centre of Zermatt this really is one of the most iconic Alpine resorts. The centre of Zermatt contains numerous shops and is also the centre of bar and restaurant activity. Electric taxis trundle the streets of Zermatt but the exclusion of all other cars from the resort really adds to the wonderful atmosphere. The main Bahnhofstraße is alive with bars offering excellent après ski bars and clubs.

In many respects Zermatt is the ultimate alpine village. Its location under the Matterhorn is truly incredible. The most iconic peak in the world is visible from most parts of the village and is in a process of continual change as weather systems spin off its towering frame and the changing light reflects of its massive granite faces. As well as the stunning scenery, Zermatt is quality through and through, its shopping, restaurants and hotels exude a timeless style.

ZERMATT APRÈS SKI

One of the very best in Switzerland, Zermatt is alive in the evening with bars located all over the resort. The main Bahnhofstraße which runs through the village is a centre of activity and hosts many, intimate bars. This is also the location of the Hotel Post, the provider of many late nights in Zermatt. Bahnhofstraße is buzzing in the evening and it is fantastic to stroll from bar to bar on the snowy street.

Zermatt après ski is a little more refined than some of other resorts but it is happy to put it in front of visitors. The resort pistes out of the Rothorn ski area offer signposted après ski options above the resort, with numerous turn-offs tempting returning skiers and boarders. This is also the location of Cervo, a newer and super-stylish venue at the end of the ski pistes on the resort’s edge.

ZERMATT MEETINGS & SEMINARS

If winter corporate events and incentives are designed to take clients out of their everyday experiences, Zermatt offers natural wonders like few other locations. From its high-altitude location, the car-free resort is dominated by historic hotels and buildings, whilst the Matterhorn looms over the resort creating a truly unique backdrop. The quality of the resort and its services are excellent whilst new air connections to Sion make access so much easier. Zermatt is upmarket and stylish but also delivers excellent après ski.

Located at 3883m, the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise has a dedicated meeting room for up to 70 people. High above the clouds and with views across to the stunning Matterhorn peak, the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise is one of the most remarkable locations to host a meeting or seminar. Better still the venue also has an excellent wine cellar for break-outs! In the resort, the Hotel Post has extensive meeting facilities and there are numerous activities on offer from shooting to snow Olympics.
