Huge, high-altitude ski region, with pumping apres ski – Val d’Isère ticks every box. Probably the best skiing in France with La Folie Douce to round off the day - Val d’Isère is superb for corporate ski trips.

With a huge brand comes a whopping expectation – yet on almost every level, Val d’Isère is as good as it gets. Glacier skiing which accesses some truly epic off-piste terrain, steep FIS race pistes finishing in the town and lift & piste links to Tignes.

Corporate ski event planners looking to organise an incentive event for groups of serious skiers should consider Val d’Isère. Few ski areas globally can match the size, variety and snow security of this iconic French ski colossus.

Luxury & quality run throughout the resort and ski area, whilst Val d’Isère après ski is remorseless – the action off the slopes is as good as on it. Drop into La Folie Douce in the afternoon and soak up the high life with Champagne-fueled ski-boot dancing.

Back in Val d’Isère, the gastronomy is special with Michelin dining in wonderful settings. The streets of Val d’Isère throng during winter and for those with the stamina, Le Petit Danois offers an eye-opening escape into the next day.

High, extensive ski area

Non-skiers

One of the principal ski resorts of the Alps, Val d’Isère offers a fantastic range of activities for non-skiers including airports, ice-driving, winter walks, snowshoeing, fat biking and spa days.

Val d’Isère skiing

For hardened skiers, there are few better locations in the Alps. Many corporate ski clients require a big ski brand for their events and Val d’Isère certainly has that. Val d’Isère has a towering ski area with glacier skiing offering skiing for much of the year and accessing some epic off-piste skiing. There are huge, wide slopes in the Solaise sector and steeps running down from Bellevarde.

Val d’Isère is also ski lift & piste linked to the neighbouring Tignes ski area. Solaise or the village centre offer the best options for beginner skiers, whilst the pistes from Col de Fresse are an absolute dream for beginner skiers and snowboarders. Famed for its tough skiing, Val d’Isère offers steep skiing and truly epic, high-altitude, off-piste skiing including the Le Col Pers or the tree routes above Le Fornet. Local guides are highly regarded and there is a big ski touring community in Val d’Isère.

For corporate groups with mixed-ability skiers, Val d’Isère is also a stand-out destination with fantastic, long pistes through all the sectors. Some of the best terrain is found at Solaise or above La Daille. The runs back into Val d’Isère can be crowded, narrow and steep but downloads are possible for the less good skiers and boarders.

And when the huge resources of Val d’Isère are exhausted, mile-hungry intermediates can head over to Tignes. The pistes from the Col de Fresse are an intermediate’s dream, whilst the pistes from L’Aiguille Percee on the far side of Tignes are similarly fantastic for intermediate skiers. Glacier skiing at the Grande Motte, high above Tignes ensures that skiing is possible almost year-round, with stunning views from this cloud-busting height.

Val d’Isère resort

In a region where multiple resorts are vying for the accolade of the most enviable alpine retreat Val d’Isère is right up there amongst them. It has high-end hotels, fine dining, luxury shopping and a swagger on the streets that is tough to match. For corporate ski events, the range and quality of the services, on and off the snow make it a superb corporate ski destination.

Chalets can be from another planet, whilst the old, historic quarter exudes charm. The less-attractive development of the past is being replaced, with the resort seeking to reflect its staggering natural surroundings. The atmosphere in Val d’Isère is rarely matched in the French Alps and the streets and terraces are packed from December to May.

Sandwiched between La Daille in the northwest and Le Fornet in the east, Val d’Isère occupies a dramatic section of the high-altitude, Tarentaise Valley. The eastern section of the valley is closed to traffic throughout the winter and the area enjoys a remote, secluded, alpine feel, offering the final and highest skiing in this globally famous ski region.

Lift access is pretty straightforward from much of the Val d’Isère accommodation, whilst ski buses connect the outlying resorts of La Daille and Le Fornet to Val d’Isère. La Daille is a frequent arrival point for those enjoying a drink in La Folie Douce.

Val d’Isère apres ski

Corporate ski groups will find a huge range of après ski entertainment in Val d’Isère from high-end bars to ski boots on the tables.

The central area hosts heated terraces and live music. There is also fine dining in some exquisite venues for corporate groups looking for refinement after the slopes.

No trip to Val d’Isère is complete without some time spent on the terraces at La Folie Douce. With contemporary sounds filling the air, champagne bottles buzzing the crowds and revellers dancing on tables, it’s a special place to spend an afternoon and a very hard place to depart.

The piste back to the valley can be mayhem (although clients can download on the gondola) whilst the ski bus back into Val d’Isère is like a C-grade talent show.

Val d’Isère meeting & seminar events

Val d’Isère is one of the leading meeting & seminar destinations in the region. The skiing is sensational, activities on and off the slopes are superb and the après ski and entertainment are some of the best in France.

Corporate ski event attendees can ski some of the best terrain in the Alps, party round the clock and experience incredible activities such as paragliding or ice driving. All this in Val d’Isère, with its huge brand, stunning scenery and rarefied atmosphere.

The Val d'Isère Congrès is a dedicated meeting & seminar convention centre with extensive, modular spaces and a range of quality, professional services. It regularly hosts convention events throughout the year.
