SKIING IN COURMAYEUR

Courmayeur skiing is pure eye-candy, with 14, 4000m plus peaks in view from the ski area. The Courmayeur ski area is one of the best in the region with excellent terrain for intermediates, whilst advanced skiers can take advantage of the fantastic off-piste terrain, including ski routes into the Chamonix valley in France.

Ski lifts leave the western flank of Courmayeur and there is an impressive vertical of over 1.5km from the top station at 2755m back down to the village. Beginners would start around the Plan Checrouit area, and there are several restaurants in this area for group lunches.

Known the world-over, the iconic Vallée Blanche is synonymous with the Chamonix valley, yet the recently built Sky Way lift accesses the Rifugio Torino hut at 3375 m, from where the Vallée Blanche can be accessed. Ride the 18km ski route and enjoy a wine in Chamonix after one of the world’s great descents.

For those skiers and snowboarders looking to add to, or top the Vallée Blanche experience, heli skiing is possible in Courmayeur. Fly into the Mont Blanc Massif and ride some of the most incredible descents in the alps – a absolute highlight of any corporate ski trip.

Courmayeur is one the most atmospheric and charming villages in the region. Significant in the mountaineering world, Courmayeur is steeped in alpine history.

Around 80 minutes from Geneva and a little further from Milan and Turin, Courmayeur has a short resort transfer often demanded by event planners. Dining options are excellent as are the non-ski event activities that are essential for company ski trips.

Ski lifts depart the western edge of Courmayeur, whist there are a number of satellite villages surrounding Courmayeur, offering further hotel and entertainment options.

APRÈS SKI IN COURMAYEUR

Courmayeur has some of the best après ski in the region. On the slopes, Super G is one of the headline acts on the Courmayeur après ski circuit and is not to be missed. Eat. Sleep. Champagne. Brilliant.

For those with the stamina, The Club is on hand to thin the numbers at the following day’s breakfast buffet.

For those looking for some slope side après ski, the cable car to the Plan Checrouit operates until midnight for those who couldn’t leave the mountain, or those heading back up after a refresh.

Another alpine option is taking a snowmobile to drinks and dinner in the area around Val Veny.

COURMAYEUR DINING

Few places do food like Italy, and corporate ski events in Courmayeur are all about magical group dining experiences, awash with regional wine.

Valdostana cuisine includes soups and stews from the region, as well as polenta dishes. The proximity with France is evident in the Courmayeur interpretation of the famed Fondue – the Fonduta, whilst Tartiflette is popular.

On the mountain a real highlight is the infinity table by Kartell, located at 3466m – designer furnishings, gourmet food and views from another world.

In Courmayeur village there are numerous fine dining options including Michelin starred restaurants close to the historic centre and in the village around Courmayeur.

MEETINGS & SEMINARS IN COURMAYEUR

The recently installed Skyway cable car offers a range of spectacular meeting and seminar venues at the top station. Stunning views over the roof of the Alps are on offer, with truly memorable meeting breakouts.
