Sailing regattas bring corporate teams together for some friendly competition on the water. The locations, hardware and trimmings of a sailing regatta make it one of the best corporate incentive event activities.

A 21st-century slant on the age-old desire to explore and discover, adventure trekking combines multiple skills to get off the beaten track and away from the rambling masses. Cool, exhilarating, and hugely rewarding, adventure trekking is open to all of moderate fitness and with a reasonable head for heights.

A million miles from stumbling over wet stiles with an OS map dangling from the neck, adventure trekking explores new areas that were previously wilderness and unseen. Adventure trekking can take in canyons, coastal areas and rocky slopes and is an ideal group corporate event activity, offering inclusiveness and adventure.

Adventure trekking on an incentive event

Guides lead small groups, scrambling up rock inclines, abseiling down cliffs, navigating canyons and river beds, and negotiating the coastal water front. Not as intense as rock climbing, scrambling offers the chance to reach remote areas where other supervised, technical pursuits are undertaken, such as abseiling, where clients are lowered down steep cliffs on ropes.

Adventure trekking can also include high, exposed sections, such as suspended paths on the walls of canyons or coastal land bridges. Guides are technically qualified but also on hand to educate and inform clients as the tour passes through rich and varied flora, fauna, and geology.

Alternative incentive event activities

Yachts racing on Lisbon harbour.

Other incentive event activities

Adventure trekking can take place in the mountains, hills and coastal areas. It doesn't require any specific skills and is a reasonably inclusive activity. There are many more activities to complement incentive events.

Person sliding down a waterfall in a river canyon

Alternative to adventure trekking - canyoning

A wet and more technical version of adventure trekking, canyoning involves leaps into the water and sliding down waterfalls.
