Offering some of the best après ski in the region, Morzine has some excellent slope-side & central après ski bars, whilst Avoriaz has the pulsating ski-in / ski-out après ski behemoth – La Folie Douce.

Snowflake

The magical village of Morzine is alive in the winter with bars, restaurants, and shops. With some of the best après ski in the French Alps, those on corporate ski trips don’t need to park their ski boots at 16:00.

There are ski-in / ski-out après ski bars in Avoriaz as well as lift and slope side options around Les Prodains and Pleney in the heart of Morzine.

With a thriving local population, there are several après ski watering holes that fall under the radar in Morzine Avoriaz, with local’s bars and live music venues offering a different take on French après ski.

For those with unlimited stamina, L’Opera looms large, offering revelry sufficiently late, that guests might cross paths with those heading to breakfast.

LA FOLIE DOUCE AVORIAZ

Located on the slopes of Avoriaz, La Folie Douce is the biggest après ski brand in the Alps. Huge on spectacle, La Folie Douce Avoriaz is packed throughout the season, with live music and DJ’s playing on the balcony.

Accessed on snow, La Folie Douce is the port-of-call for most of those skiing in the area. Drinks flow, champagne bottles buzz the crowd and table dancing is mandatory.

For corporate ski trip planners looking to make an afternoon of it, La Folie Douce Avoriaz offers contemporary French dining both indoors and outdoors. VIP areas can be reserved on the terrace for corporate ski groups.

For non-skiers, walkways through the resort offer the chance to join the revelry at La Folie Douce, whilst horse-drawn carriages or skidoos offer an alternative transfer.

LE TREMPLIN

Another terrace to welcome ski boots and ensure a tough following morning, Le Tremplin is located at the base station of the Pleney gondola. It has a large terrace as well as indoor seating in its restaurant.

With superb views onto the ski piste Le Stade, revellers on the terrace of Le Tremplin are treated to a feast of ski carnage as tired legs give up and skiers and boarders fall their way down to the bar.

DJ’s play from a cable car on the terrace and there are tables and standing areas for clients. The proximity to the slopes, ski lift and village centre make Le Tremplin a great option for corporate ski trips.

For non-skiers, the location of Le Tremplin is ideal with a foot passenger gondola next door for those enjoying an afternoon winter walk, whilst the ski buses run, just metres from Le Tremplin.

ROBBOS (AKA BAR ROBINSONS)

Located in the central area of Morzine, and about to celebrate its centenary, Robbos is one of Morzine’s original and most iconic bars, with celebrated beers and food.

Many head to Robbos to appreciate its super strong Mützig Old Lager, a bulldozer of a brew and widely responsible for thinning the crowds waiting for the first gondola ride.

Robbos has a short window of operation, 15:00 – 21:00 and for that reason it has become a popular après ski venue, with skiers and boarders dashing for the finish line.

Food is served in Robbos, a welcome interruption to the steady flow of the glasses of Mützig.

CAVERN

Centrally located and showing the full programme of the 6 Nations Rugby, the Cavern entertains a crowd of locals and visitors throughout the winter.

Beer tables can be booked, complete with self-service beer taps and card readers for in-house cards. Caution is recommended before these tables are booked!

Live music acts and parties feature daily with bands playing a mix of international tunes and après ski classics to get the place rumbling.

Open from 16:00 until 02:00, the Cavern offers some of the best late-night drinking in Morzine.

L’OPERA

For those with super-human powers, L’Opera nightclub is open from midnight through to 05:00 (it's main draw), offering the chance to see daybreak over the mountains.

An alternative to L’Opera would be the late opening Cavern, probably the best music venue in the Morzine Avoriaz region and open for those preferring a 02:00 ejection.
