The Morzine-Avoriaz ski area is ideal for mixed-ability corporate ski groups. There is gentle terrain on Pleney and around Avoriaz, superb intermediate terrain across the vast Portes du Soleil ski region and fantastic off-piste terrain in Avoriaz.
Avoriaz offers ski-in ski-out accommodation, while the Morzine centre is just steps away from the main Morzine lift station. Super-Morzine offers another ski sector that is linked to the village centre.
The Morzine Pleney sector is located just above the resort and links into the Les Gets ski area, another in the Portes du Soleil region.
This sector is treelined, accessible via the central gondola and has ski pistes running back to the resort centre. Beginner skiers can opt for the gondola to download to Morzine.
The Pleney has ideal beginner terrain around the gondola mountain station and some gentle slopes to progress onto.
More details
The ski-in, ski-out resort of Avoriaz is located at 1800m and offers the region's highest and most snow-sure skiing. Above the tree line, Avoriaz offers large bowls broken up by numerous stunning rock formations.
The Avoriaz peaks feel noticeably bigger than Morzine - they are higher, more exposed and tree-free. Skiing up close to some of the rock formations is spectacular.
Avoriaz slopes connect to the primary Portes du Soleil circuit, which sweeps into Switzerland, while the piste to Pordains takes skiers to the valley connecting with Morzine.
Avoriaz skiing
Avoriaz gets some of the deepest snow accumulations in the Alps, whilst the terrain is rugged and steep. Combine these features, and you have some of the best off-piste skiing in the region.
Apart from the lower slopes in the Prodains base station, Avoriaz skiing takes place above the treeline. Morzine, however, offers huge swathes of tree skiing that offer a great contrast to Avoriaz terrain and is ideal in poor light.
