Famous the world over for its incredible ski area, Lech Zürs is the only place in Austria to permit heli-skiing. The ultimate experience for the best skiers and snowboarders, heli-ski flights leave Lech and Zürs.
Not everyone on a corporate ski trip will clip into a binding, and there are fantastic things to do for non-skiers. Many of the non-ski activities can be enjoyed by the group as a whole for inclusive, team moments.
The riverside promenades in central Lech give way to the winter walking trails of the Zug Valley. Within minutes, the scenery changes and clients are in the wilds of nature.
The Zug Valley is a remarkable location, with peaks towering over the river valley. Forests follow the route of the river along the valley.
The marked walking trail takes in wonderful nature and passes through the village of Zug, for breaks in its restaurants. The trail continues beyond Zug to the wilds of the upper valley.
CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING
There are 27km of prepared trails in Lech Zürs, and the Zug Valley is the place to enjoy the best of the cross-country skiing in the area. Trails start in Lech and explore the forests of the Zug Valley, looping around the upper reaches of the valley and passing the idyllic Älpele mountain hut.
The alternative terrain to the Zug Valley is on the Zürs Flexen pass. This high-altitude terrain has a cross-country skiing trail running from the resort, along the valley and back into Zürs. Equipment and instruction are readily available in both Lech and Zürs.
ICE SKATING
Taking to the ice is an iconic pastime in the Alps, and the open-air, natural ice rink on the high-altitude plateau of Zürs is a great option for non-skiers.
Sociable and scenic, ice skating is also possible as a nighttime group activity.
SNOWSHOEING
Slightly more involved than winter walks, snowshoeing utilises snowshoes and ski poles to prevent the hiker from sinking into less compacted snow.
Snowshoe routes follow marked and unmarked trails and offer a great sense of escape.
Lech Zürs is the only location in Austria where heli-skiing is permitted. For the best skiers and snowboarders on a corporate ski trip, heli-skiing represents the premier activity.
Taking off from Lech or Zürs, the flights head west to remote peaks, far beyond the marked ski area. With a guide, small groups descend some of the most incredible ski terrain in the region.
Heli-skiing is a bucket-list activity, and those involved will never forget the experience.
TANDEM PARAGLIDING
Secured in a harness and strapped to a pilot, tandem paragliding involves running down and flying off a mountain. This is one of the great non-ski activities in the Alps.
No skill is required, and only limited initial bravery is needed since the flight begins on firm ground. Once airborne, the experience of flying over the peaks like a bird is truly remarkable.
SCENIC FLIGHTS
For similar views and a slightly more conventional means of transport, scenic flights are possible over the Arlberg peaks.
Flights depart Lech and Zürs and offer stunning photo opportunities for those on board.
TOBOGGANING
For those looking to keep their feet on firm ground, tobogganing can be a thrilling, non-ski activity.
There is a marked and prepared toboggan trail through the forests from Oberlech down to Lech. No specific skills are required.
A classic alpine lifestyle activity, horse-drawn carriage rides offer the chance to explore the region in a timeless fashion, powered by a horse.
Horse-drawn carriage rides often start on the riverbank of central Lech, and a favourite route is to take the road along the Zug Valley.
It is possible to stop in Zug for a drink and cake before returning to Lech.
SKYSPACE
Those looking for some exercise and a visual feast at the end of it should take the winter walking trail above Oberlech to the Skyspace installation. Skyspace is a domed structure that features an opening to the sky above.
It is a contemplative space where the clouds pass by and the daylight changes.
DAY SPA
Pure pampering is on offer at a day spa. Hotels in Lech and Zürs offer varying degrees of spa facilities, some with thermal pools in the snow.
Please provide a little information, and we can begin to develop some initial ideas for you.
